Canadian PM’s Wife, Sophie Tests Positive To Coronavirus, Trudeaus Self-Isolation

Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, wife of the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has tested positive for Coronavirus after undergoing medical tests.

Earlier this week, reports have it that Justin Trudeau was self-isolating himself after his wife returned from London complaining of ‘flu-like symptoms’.

A statement released by the communications director for the Canadian Prime Minister, Cameron Ahmad reads; “Following medical recommendations, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau was tested for COVID-19 today.

“The test came back positive. Also following medical advice, she will remain in isolation for the time being. She is feeling well, is taking all the recommended precautions, and her symptoms remain mild.”

A press statement stating that the wife of the Canadian Prime Minister, Sophie Trudeau has contracted coronavirus (COVID-19).

The statement also revealed that the Prime Minister is free from the viral disease and in good health but will continue isolating himself for two weeks.

The statement added; “Prime Minister Trudeau is in good health with no symptoms. As a precautionary measure and following the advice of doctors, he will be in isolation for a planned period of 14 days.

“Also on the advice of doctors, he will not be tested at this stage since he has no symptoms. For the same reason, doctors say there is no risk to those who have been in contact with him recently.”

The World Health Organization had on Wednesday, declared the coronavirus a pandemic outbreak as taken the lives of over 4,000 people.
