The police in Lagos has arraigned four men before a Lagos State Magistrates’ Court sitting in the Ejigbo area of the state for allegedly assaulted and unleashed their dog on some Ikeja Electric workers.
The defendants: Joel Aisabor, Victor Omonzokpea, Ehis Omonzokpea, and Prosper Nwaocha, were docked before the court on five-count charge of conspiracy, breach of peace, assault and causing body injury.
They were specifically accused of unleashing their dog on the victims identified as Olukanni Babatunde and Akanbi Adedayo.
According to police prosecutor, Kenneth Asibor, the alleged offences were punishable under sections 411, 168(d), 172, 173 and 350(a) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos, 2015.
Asibor claimed that the defendants on February 15, 2020 conspired and assaulted the victims, and that Aisabor locked his gate and unleashed his dog on Babatunde which caused him body injuries.
The prosecutor also alleged that the defendants also tore the uniforms of the victims.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate then granted them bail in the sum of N50,000 with a responsible surety each, who must provide two years tax payment evidence.
The case was thereafter adjourned till March 30 for mention while the defendants were remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Centre pending the perfection of their bail terms.
